XPS 8950 (LGA1700) vs 8940 (LGA1200) 65w heatsink
I am wondering if Dell redesigned the Z height of LGA1700 heatsink for XPS 8950, Aurora R13 etc. compared to the LGA1200 heatsink DP/N 3HRY2.

It is hard to see 1 millimeter in photos of different scale.

LGA 1700, it is 78 mm × 78 mm
LGA 1200 it is 75 mm × 75 mm
LGA 1700 has a smaller Z height. A properly designed heatsink should be < 1mm thicker than LGA 1200.
LGA1700 z-height of 6.529 to 7.532mm
LGA1200 z-height of 7.312 to 8.249mm.
